The excellence of a diamond cut directly impacts the beauty of diamond. The perfection of a diamond cut is defined by its reflection and refraction towards light.
Fluorescence
Diamond fluorescence refers to the tendency of a diamond to discharges a soft colored radiance when subjected to ultraviolent light (black light). While strong or very strong fluorescence diamonds appeared to have better color than less fluorescent diamonds. However, diamond fluorescence is not a major factor to consider while purchasing diamonds.
Polish
Polish of a diamond refers to the facets finishing. In another way, it is the overall smoothness of each diamond facet. Diamond polish grades are categorized as Excellent, Very Good, Good, Fair, and Poor. Polishing defects in diamonds are not noticeable to the bare eye with grades excellent and good. The appearance of a diamond is not impacted with diamond polish.
Symmetry
Symmetry of a diamond refers to the alignment and intersection of various facets. This includes misshapen facets, off-center culets and tables, and curly girdles. Poor symmetry diamonds have visible defects on it. The symmetry of a diamond graded as Excellent, Very Good, Good, Fair, and Poor. Excellent and Very Good graded diamonds; symmetry is not a primary factor to consider, because diamonds with these grades have the exceptional appearance and also overall cut grade already includes symmetry.
